Led by multi-award-winning director and actor Scott Major, this 6-week Scene Study class recreates the pace and pressure of television directing in an intimate studio setting.
Designed for experienced actors, this class demands speed, precision, and full commitment. It sharpens your ability to take direction, adapt quickly, and deliver under pressure.
Scott brings over 30 years of industry experience. He directed more than 200 episodes of Neighbours, including its 2022 finale, and received the AACTA Award for Best Direction that same year. His credits also include Heartbreak High, All Saints, Playing for Keeps, Riptide, and Lie With Me.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
Across six weeks, actors work on three scenes total, each developed over a two-week period. Scene partners and material rotate midway through the course.
You will:
Work deeply on character and emotional truth
Receive direct, practical feedback
Apply adjustments quickly, as on a working set
Build adaptability, confidence, and responsiveness

Application-only class
Applicants must have intermediate acting experience or prior training with Scott Major.

PRE-CLASS HOMEWORK
Scenes and partners are provided before the course begins.
Actors must be fully off-book and bring a printed copy of their scene to class.

Award-winning director, actor, producer and writer with over 30 years’ experience across television, theatre and film. Directing credits include Neighbours, Darklands, Playing for Keeps, Riptide and Lie With Me. Acting credits include Heartbreak High, Wildside and Always Greener.
