We recommend reading all the information very carefully. To complete your application, please ensure you email a copy of your headshot and resume to admin@howardfinestudio.com.au. Soon after receiving your application, a representaive of the Howard Fine Acting Studio will contact you with regards to scheduling your audition.

What To Prepare

Please prepare two monologues. Both monologues should be from a theatrical play, not film or television. One monologue must be from the list of monologues provided (linked below), the second monologue can be one of your choosing or it can also be from the list provided. Please note, you are not restricted by the assigned gender of the monologues - please select any role that resonates with you.

In addition to presenting your monologues, there is also a brief interview component that forms part of the audition process. All auditions are hosted individually (i.e. we do not undertake group auditions) and are hosted online.

In addition to preparing your two monologues, we strongly advise that you read or refer to Howard’s book ‘Fine on Acting: A Vision of the Craft’, paying particular attention to the chapter on the ‘Eight Steps’. It is also highly recommended that you read the entire play from which your monologues are taken. We also encourage you to audit one of our Scene Study or Master Classes, and consider attending a free Open Day & Sample Class prior to auditioning.

Refer to our What’s On Calendar to see when our next Open Day & Sample Class is scheduled. Additionally, should you wish to audit a class please email us at admin@howardfinestudio.com.au and we will notify you of suitable upcoming classes to observe.
