ENROLMENT AND CONFIRMING YOUR PLACE

1. Programs requiring an application

Submitting an application does not confirm your enrolment or guarantee a place.

If your application is successful, we will explain how to accept your offer, the payment required to secure your place and any further enrolment requirements. Your place is confirmed once you have completed these requirements and received confirmation from the Studio.

2. Courses and events booked directly

For courses, workshops and events that can be booked directly through our website, your place is confirmed once your booking and required payment have been successfully processed and you receive a booking confirmation.

If you do not receive confirmation, please contact the Studio so we can check your booking.

3. Before confirming your place

Please check the dates, attendance requirements, total fee and payment arrangements before accepting an offer or completing a booking.

If you choose a payment plan, your initial payment secures your booking as outlined in your offer or booking information. The remaining instalments must be paid according to your agreed schedule, subject to the cancellation and withdrawal terms that apply to your enrolment.

PAYMENT PLANS AND FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS

Summary: Payment plans and unsuccessful payments

We offer payment plans through Ezidebit and, for selected short courses, through our website using Squarespace subscriptions. Your payment schedule and installment amounts are outlined when you set up your plan.

Please ensure your payment details are current and sufficient funds are available for each scheduled payment.

1. If you need to change your payment plan

We understand that circumstances change, and we want to help where we can. Please contact the Studio as soon as possible if you expect difficulty making a payment.

Contacting us early gives us the best opportunity to help you avoid an unsuccessful payment and any associated fees.

If we are contacted less than 48hrs of the scheduled payment we cannot guarantee that we will be able to make the necessary adjustments.

1A. Ezidebit payment plans

A failed payment fee may apply under your Ezidebit agreement, and your bank or financial institution may also charge a fee. These fees are charged by, and go to, Ezidebit or your financial institution, rather than the Studio, and are outside our control.

If a payment is unsuccessful, Ezidebit will attempt to debit it again three business days later. If that attempt also fails, the missed payment is added as an additional instalment at the end of your payment schedule, extending the plan until the outstanding amount is paid.

As a reminder, contacting us as early as possible gives us the best opportunity to help you avoid an unsuccessful payment and any associated fees.

1B. Short-course payment plans through Squarespace

Some short-course payment plans appear as “subscriptions” in your website customer account.

If a payment fails, Squarespace emails you a notification with a link to update your payment details. It retries the payment after five days, then makes a final attempt five days later. If the final attempt fails, the subscription is automatically cancelled.

Please update your payment details promptly and contact the Studio so we can help arrange payment of any outstanding installments.

2. Outstanding course fees

A failed payment or the automatic cancellation of a payment subscription does not, by itself, cancel your enrolment or waive any course fees payable under your enrolment agreement. Withdrawals and refunds are governed by the Studio’s cancellation and refund terms.

2A. Cancellations, withdrawals and refunds

We understand that circumstances change, and we aim to be fair and considerate when students need to cancel or withdraw. We also commit teachers, spaces and resources in advance, so adequate notice is important.

2B. Cancelling before a program, course or event

All cancellations must be submitted by email to admin@howardfinestudio.com.au.

Full-Time Program 2027
The Full-Time Program requires two deposit payments of $500, totalling $1,000.

If you cancel:

  • On or before 1 February 2027, your deposit is refundable.

  • After 1 February and on or before 22 February 2027, 50% of the deposit is non-refundable.

  • After 22 February 2027 and before the program begins, 100% of the deposit is non-refundable.

Any program fees paid in addition to the deposit will be refunded if you cancel before the program begins.

Part-Time, Youth and 10-Week Programs and Masterclass Participation

If you cancel at least 14 days before the scheduled start of your program, you will receive a full refund of program fees paid.

If you cancel less than 14 days before the scheduled start, we will assess any refund and remaining payment obligations. We will confirm the outcome and explain any deductions or remaining fees in writing.

Other courses, workshops, intensives and events

To receive a refund of fees paid, you must notify the Studio at least 48 hours before the scheduled start. For courses with multiple classes, this deadline applies to the first class, rather than each individual session.

Cancellations received less than 48 hours before the start, including cancellations on the day, are not eligible for a refund or credit. The same applies if you do not attend without notifying us.

These conditions are subject to section 2D, ‘Exceptional circumstances’.

2C. Withdrawing after a course has started

Refunds or credits are not available if you withdraw after a course has begun. Missing classes or choosing not to complete a course does not automatically reduce the course fee. If you are paying by instalments, any remaining fees payable under your enrolment agreement remain due unless the Studio confirms a different arrangement in writing.

2D. Exceptional circumstances

If a serious or unexpected circumstance prevents you from attending or continuing, please contact us as soon as possible. We will consider your situation individually and may discuss options such as a transfer, course credit, deferral or partial refund. We may request relevant supporting information. An exception is not guaranteed. In considering your request, we will take into account the circumstances, the notice provided, the training already delivered and the costs committed by the Studio.

3. How to request a cancellation or withdrawal

Email admin@howardfinestudio.com.au with your name, the course or event, and details of your request. Notice is calculated from when your email is received.

Cancelling a payment plan or subscription does not, by itself, cancel your enrolment. Please contact the Studio so we can confirm your withdrawal and any remaining payment obligations.

4. If the Studio cancels

If the Studio cancels a course or event before it begins, you will receive a full refund for all fees paid, unless you choose a credit instead. If we cannot deliver part of a course, we will offer an appropriate replacement or refund for the portion not delivered.

5. Timetable, teaching and curriculum changes

We plan our programs carefully, but adjustments may sometimes be needed to accommodate teacher availability, student learning needs or unforeseen circumstances.

The Studio may make reasonable changes to the timetable, teaching staff, class sequence or curriculum while maintaining the overall learning objectives and scope of the program.

We will communicate changes as soon as reasonably possible. If a significant change affects your ability to attend or materially changes the training you enrolled in, please contact us to discuss suitable arrangements.

6 Your consumer rights and reviewing a decision

We aim to make fair and reasonable decisions that take individual circumstances into account. If you disagree with a cancellation or refund decision, please email admin@howardfinestudio.com.au, explaining your concerns and any relevant information. You can request a review by the Studio Director.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Where you are entitled to a refund or another remedy under that law, those rights apply regardless of the cancellation deadlines above.

You may also seek independent advice or contact Consumer Affairs Victoria if your concerns remain unresolved.
