Scene Study Support and Content Form
During Scene Study, you’ll work closely with a scene partner on material selected by your tutors.
Some plays may explore sensitive or potentially distressing themes, including suicide, physical or sexual violence, grief, the loss of a child or loved one, and drug use.
Before we allocate your scene
Please use the form below to let us know if there are any themes or types of content you would prefer not to work with, or would like us to discuss with you first.
You do not need to share personal details or explain why. We only need to know what your tutors should consider when selecting material for you.
What happens next?
Your response will be handled sensitively and shared only with relevant Studio staff where necessary to support your scene allocation.
If you have any questions or would prefer to speak with us directly, please contact the Studio.
Looking after your wellbeing
Scene Study can involve emotionally demanding material. If something comes up for you during your training, we encourage you to speak with your tutor or a member of the Studio team.

A note from Fine on Acting, A Vision of the Craft
“If there are experiences in your life you have never been able to talk about, not to a therapist, not to your best friend, I would advise professional counselling. Do not try to use it for your acting. Make sure that you know that once you touch it, you will be able to come back and be functional and be ok. You have to be very careful because we’re playing with mental health here and actors, I want you to have a healthy life so that you can go to these places, but know that you have a safe place to come back to.”
