With four spaces available, including a 50-seat theatre, our studios are suited to actors, directors, production teams, independent creatives and organisations looking for flexible studio hire in Melbourne's inner north.

*The Studio is located on Level 1 which is accessed by going up two sets of stairs (26 steps in total, two sets of 13 with a small landing in the middle)

The theatre is a versatile space, featuring wooden floorboards, a tiered seating bank, and foldable chairs. It’s best suited to rehearsals, workshops and small performances.

CAPACITY: 10 people - 18, depending on use.
Air conditioned.
Studio 1 features carpeting, white walls and black foldable chairs available for use. It’s best suited to rehearsals, very small workshops and auditions.
Studio 2
SIZE: 22 sq. m.
CAPACITY: 10 people.
Air conditioned.
Studio 2 features carpeting, box lights and a tripod for phones. It is best suited to small rehearsals, workshops, and self-tapes.
Downstairs Theatre

CAPACITY: 25 people.
The downstairs theatre is accessible via the laneway next to the Studio. This space is best suited to rehearsals and workshops. We have a small amount of props and furniture available for use in the space. This space contains an accessible bathroom.
External Studio Hire
Our spaces are available for external hire for rehearsals, auditions, workshops, filming, photography, creative development and other suitable professional and creative activities.
Hire rates vary depending on the space, nature and frequency of the booking, and requirements of the activity.

Studio Hire for Current Students
Current HFASA students can hire Studio spaces for independent rehearsal and practice at reduced student rates.
